DECAYING FLOSS COMMUNITIES VS. EMERGING HACKERSPACES

This year, Free Software Macedonia is turning 10 years, and hacklab KIKA is turning 2 years.

Free Software Macedonia is a non-profit organization which promotes free software through creating a clear image of economic and socio-ethnic context which free software has, especially for developing countries, such as Macedonia. It was founded in 2002 in Skoplje and it is the only organization in the country which deals with free software in that manner.

Haclab KIKA is a project of Free Software Macedonia and other enthusiasts in the domain of technology. It has been functioning for two years, and it presents a place where people from Skoplje gather and discuss about technology and create projects. KIKA is a public space and anyone can come, listen and give new ideas.
