Grew up in Kuwait with parents educated in Russia, and then changed eight cities before coming to New York where she currently lives and works, Fatima Al Qadiri is a phenomenon without limits. She engaged in music at an early age, and as a teenager she spent summers in London where she discovered euphoric synth eurodance music, as well as vibrant subcultures of the city.
Her EP Genre-Specific Xperience contains 5 tracks that encompass subgenres of electronic music: Gregorian trance, dubstep, hip hop, juke and electro-tropicalia. At the SHARE conference’s day program, Fatima will present the audio-visual work developed by five artists as a response to her original productions. The work deals with topics such as religion, technology and specific isolation that it brings, but also sexuality reflected in Arab stance toward London (This is bad grammar, I would remove it). Fatima Al Qadiri is also engaged in visual art, as well as in her music project Ayshay, on label Tri Angle, which released Clams Casino and many other prominent artists.
