'Aging should be treated as an illness and there actually might be a cure for it', is something you may hear while attending Doctor Aubrey de Grey’s lectures. Doctor Aubrey is a biomedical gerontologist based in Cambridge, UK and he claims that a person who will live more than 150 years has already been born.
His original field of interest was computer science and he did research for six years in the area of software verification before he decided to switch to molecular biology and biogerontology. He’s the cofounder of a non-profit organization called SENS (Strategic for Engineered Negligible Senescence Foundation). The most adequate definition of SENS would be 'an integrated set of medical techniques designed to restore youthful molecular and cellular structure to aged tissues and organs.' This means that regenerative medicine is applied to the problem of ill-health related to aging.
